Title:  Manager
Reports To:  President
Status of Work:  Full- time

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Supervisors and cleaning staff fulfill the day to day job expectations, completing assigned tasks
  • Ensure client expectations are fulfilled as per contract
  • Review client inquiries, complaints and responding at a higher level if necessary, trending client complaints and inquiries and providing supervisor with solutions
  • Perform quality audits on a predetermined, regular basis
  • Communicate with clients including sending out surveys for response
  • Motivate, encourage, praise Supervisors and Staff
  • Perform Annual Performance Appraisals of Staff
  • Perform coaching and discipline as required up to and including termination of staff
  • Scheduling of staff
  • Assisting with payroll as required
  • Assist with budget as required
  • Ensuring the safety of the staff
  • Train Supervisors with respect to new equipment and chemicals
  • Order of Equipment and Supplies
  • May be required to fill in, in a Supervisory capacity when required
  • Attend Trade Shows as necessary
  • Network and Source new potential clients
  • Keep current in new cleaning technologies
  • Perform other duties as required by the President

Physical Demands of the Job:  must be able to bend, reach above shoulder level, twist, climb, kneel, stand, squat, walk, lift up to 15 KG floor to waist, operate small equipment, push, pull – (required if filling in for a Supervisor), sit, operate computer.

Required Elements: 

  • Must have a minimum grade 12 education.
  • Must have previous cleaning experience including project work such as stripping and waxing floors.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years previous supervisory and/or management experience in a cleaning environment
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken).
  • Must be customer service focused. 
  • Must be able to prioritize, problem solve, delegate duties
  • Must be able to motivate, give praise and recognition, coach cleaning staff   
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must have knowledge in Microsoft Word Office, Excel
  • Must have a good previous attendance record at past place of employment 
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Must have Health and Safety knowledge

Additional Assets: 

  • Post secondary education
  • Budgeting experience
  • Human Resources/Labour Relations experience
  • Courses pertaining to people skills
  • Supervisory and/or management experience in Contract Commercial Building Service Provider
